Challenging time of year and the Canada Post Strike
This morning, as I stepped outside, the chill in the air reminded me of how challenging this time of year is for the people Shepherds of Good Hope serves.
Today, we also learned that Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers have not reached an agreement, resulting in a nationwide strike. This will delay any mailed donations reaching us and our tax receipts and stories from reaching you. With winter upon us and our busiest season ahead, we are worried, and your support is needed more than ever.
Here are ways you can help right away:
- Online: Make a secure donation anytime by clicking here or visiting www.sghottawa.com.
- By Phone: Call us at 613-789-8210, and our team will gladly assist you.
- By Mail: You can still mail your donation, but please expect delays in processing and receiving your tax receipt.
If you’ve already sent a gift by mail, thank you—we’ll process it as soon as it arrives.
Your compassion ensures we can provide meals, shelter, and the comfort of a welcoming community to those who need it most. Together, we can ensure no one is left out in the cold this winter.

You are an essential part of the Shepherds Team. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with us when it matters most.
With gratitude,
